I am a medical doctor with a passion for writing.

As a fiction writer, I am an Australian Society of Authors and Copyright Agency 2020 Award Mentorship recipient, a 2018-20 Four Centres Emerging Writer Program participant and was longlisted for the 2017 Richell Prize for Emerging Writers for my historical fiction manuscript, ‘An Indivisible Past‘ (formerly titled ‘The Taste of Red Dust’). My short story ‘Waiting Room’ was the 2009 Medical Observer Short Story Competition WA Winner.

Creativity and health, especially where related to writing, is a particular passion and the topic of my blog.

My thirty-year medical career has focused on general practice/family medicine, health communication especially across the Hospital/GP interface and e-health, and health system improvements. Please note that I am unable to respond to requests for medical attention or advice via this website or social media.

I acknowledge the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People who are the First Peoples of Australia, and the Traditional Custodians of Boorloo, the land on which I live and work, the Whadjuk people of the Noongar nation, and pay my respects to past and present Elders, as well as to other Indigenous people throughout the world.
